Toronto FC vs. Atlanta United FC: What you need to know

After some time off due to the international break, Toronto FC is back at it this weekend when it hosts Atlanta United FC.

Given how the MLS season has gone so far, it’s hard to imagine that the Reds can generate the same level of excitement as Canada’s 4-1 win over Panama at BMO Field in a Concacaf World Cup qualifier on Wednesday. A boisterous crowd of 26, 622 fans were treated to a memorable night and a highlight reel goal by Alphonso Davies.

The mood will be considerably different this weekend, as Toronto (6-15-7) can be mathematically eliminated from the playoff picture with a loss. A tie would also eliminate the Reds if other results go against them. A win would give TFC a chance to leapfrog the Chicago Fire in the Eastern Conference table.

Here’s what you need to know about Saturday's game (7:30 p.m. ET) between TFC and Atlanta at BMO Field.
