Playoffs appear to be beyond TFC's reach

If Bob Bradley was frustrated on Saturday night, he did a very good job of disguising it.

Toronto FC put in one of its best defensive displays in a 0-0 draw away to the New England Revolution in recording only its second clean sheet of the MLS season.

For a TFC side that has leaked goals in 2022, the goal-less stalemate at Gillette Stadium was a masterclass in team defending, led by centre backs Lukas MacNaughton and Chris Mavinga, who expertly marshalled the back line, and abetted by captain Michael Bradley’s tireless defensive work in the middle of the park.

At the same time, the game was there to be won by the Reds, and there’s no denying they left valuable points on the table.
