TORONTO – The high-powered offence of AFC Toronto fired blanks on Sunday.

Toronto came out on the wrong end of a 1-0 loss to Vancouver Rise in Nothern Super League action, despite playing the majority of the match with an extra player following Jasmyne Spencer’s expulsion in the 40th minute.

An announced crowd of 7,771 at BMO Field took in the game between NSL table toppers Toronto (10-6-2) and Vancouver (6-5-5) who hold down the fourth and final playoff berth in the six-team league.

The hosts entered this match tied with Ottawa Rapid FC for the league’s best offensive record with 26 goals, but they couldn’t find a way to breach Vancouver’s bend-but-don’t-break defence.
