AFC Toronto beats Ottawa Rapid FC at BMO Field
AFC Toronto finally exorcised its demons by winning its first ever game at BMO Field on Sunday.

TORONTO – The curse of BMO Field is finally over for AFC Toronto.
Kaylee Hunter scored off a fantastic free kick and substitute Sarah Stratigakis netted the winner to help lift Toronto to a 2-1 win over Ottawa Rapid FC in Northern Super League action on Sunday.
It took Toronto seven attempts, but it finally earned its first ever victory at BMO Field. Toronto suffered three losses at the stadium during the league’s inaugural 2025 campaign, including a defeat to Vancouver Rise FC in the NSL Final, and took just a single point from its three games at Toronto FC’s home venue earlier this year.
With Sunday's win, Toronto (9-5-4) solidified its grip on third place in the NSL table, moving to within two points of second-place Ottawa and three points of league leaders Montreal Roses FC with seven games left in the season.
