5 players Toronto FC should call on more during season stretch
TFC are going to need plenty of help during the last months of the season and not just from the regular starters they've relied upon.
Toronto FC finds itself on the outside looking in with regards to the playoff race with time slowly running out.
TFC (3-7-8) sits 12th in the Eastern Conference, three spots and six points below the playoff life, while mired in a 12-game winless skid in league play (13 games in all competitions). Unless the Reds start to turn things around and pick up their first victory since April, they'll be destined to miss the post-season for a sixth consecutive year.
With a mountain to climb, Toronto is going to need all hands on deck – not just from the regular starters it has relied so heavily upon, but also from the players who have been on the fringes of the starting 11 this year.
Here are five members of the current roster who should be called upon and given more opportunities to play during the final stretch of the MLS campaign.
