TFC Republic's Player of the Year for 2025: Sean Johnson
The veteran goalkeeper was TFC's best player by some distance and played a big role in the team's defensive resurgence this season.
Toronto FC slumped its way through another disappointing MLS campaign in 2025, failing to make the playoffs for a fifth straight year.
With a 6-14-14 record and 32 points, TFC finished 12th in the Eastern Conference – one spot lower and five points fewer than in 2024 – and their 14 losses this year means they have gone five consecutive seasons with at least 10 defeats.
It could have been far worse this year if not for the efforts of Sean Johnson who enjoyed his best campaign for the Reds since joining the team as a free agent in 2023.
It’s one of the many reasons why Johnson has been named TFC Republic’s Player of the Year for 2025.
