Youngster Malik Henry looking to give TFC a spark in 2026
In a 1-on-1 interview, Henry discusses his move from TFC 2 to the first team, his personal goals for the 2026 MLS, and much more.
One of the few players to give Toronto FC a tiny spark down the home stretch of last season was midfielder Malik Henry.
Henry, a 23-year-old from Hamilton, Ont., signed three short-term agreements with the senior team and made two appearances while still a member of TFC 2 before signing his first MLS contract on Aug. 9.
On that same day, he came off the bench to set up Deandre Kerr's injury time equalizer in a 1-1 draw away to the Philadelphia Union. He earned eight more substitute appearances to close out the MLS campaign and made his debut for the Canadian men's team last month, recording an assist on the game winner against Guatemala in his debut for the senior side.
In this one-on-one interview with TFC Republic, Henry discusses his move from TFC 2 to the first team, debuting for Canada, his personal goals for the 2026 MLS season, and much more.
