A new season kicks off for Toronto FC this weekend when it plays the first of 34 contests on its match itinerary.

Twenty-eight of those games are against familiar Eastern Conference opponents, while the Reds will also have a Canadian derby against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Here are seven TFC games to circle on your calendars during the 2026 MLS regular season schedule:

February 21 – away to FC Dallas

It all starts on Saturday when Toronto FC pays a visit to Toyota Stadium to take on FC Dallas. The Reds are winless in 11 all-time road games vs. Dallas (with 10 losses), but they are unbeaten in their previous two encounters against the Texas-based club – a 1-1 draw in Dallas in their 2022 season opener and a 3-1 home win during the 2024 campaign. It's been a long off-season for Toronto with very few additions made to the roster – most notably a DP forward has yet to be signed. So, it'll be interesting to see where TFC stands when they take to the pitch in Dallas with virtually the same group of under-performing attacking players as last year.

February 28 – away to Vancouver Whitecaps

BC Place hasn't been all that kind to TFC over the years. The Reds have collected just two wins in eight regular season games there and are winless in their last four trips to Vancouver. Not since earning a 2-0 win early in the 2017 season has Toronto taken all three points on offer at BC Place. A visit to Vancouver during the second week of the season is ill-timed for a TFC side that is still filling out its roster, to say nothing of the fact that the Whitecaps reached last year's MLS Cup final and are expected to be amongst the league's top contenders again this season.

March 14 – at home to New York Red Bulls

After starting the season with three consecutive road games against three clubs who made the playoffs in 2025, Toronto will finally get to enjoy the comforts of BMO Field when it hosts the New York Red Bulls in its home opener. And this is no regular home opener as it'll mark the return of former TFC captain Michael Bradley to BMO Field for the first time since his retirement at the end of the 2024 MLS season. Bradley was named the new head coach of the Red Bulls in December, but even though the former U.S. international is in charge of one of Toronto's Eastern Conference rivals, he's still beloved by the TFC faithful and should receive a warm welcome upon his return to BMO Field.

May 9 – at home to Inter Miami

Lionel Messi touches down in Toronto for a rendezvous with TFC in the Spring, marking his third appearance at BMO Field. Messi collected an assist in a 1-1 draw last September in Toronto but couldn't find a way to beat former goalkeeper Sean Johnson who came up with a quartet of fantastic saves to keep the Argentinian off the scoresheet. The match at BMO Field was essentially a home game for Miami as the sold-out crowd 'oohed and aahed' every time Messi took a touch. A pitch invader managed to get a selfie with the World Cup winner late in the game, and Messi is very likely to get a similar reception in May. This match will also be the finale of a nine-game homestand for Toronto and its last match at BMO Field before MLS takes a break for the FIFA World Cup.

July 16 – away to CF Montreal

The first of two regular season contests between these bitter Canadian rivals – they'll also meet at BMO Field October – sees TFC travel to Stade Saputo during the summer. It'll also be TFC's first game in almost two months: the Reds' last match before the MLS break for the FIFA World Cup is away to the Chicago Fire on May 23. Montreal will have bitter memories of last year's home encounter against Toronto – it dropped a 6-1 decision to the Reds at Stade Saputo in May. It was the first time in regular season history that TFC scored six goals in a single game. Will TFC put on a similar performance against their rivals this time around? And how will they respond to the lengthy layoff?

October 28 – at home to D.C. United

D.C. United hosts Toronto in July in the first of two regular season contests between the Eastern Conference rivals. But this match in late October will be Sean Johnson's first at BMO Field since leaving the club this off-season. Johnson recorded seven clean sheets last year and enjoyed his best campaign for TFC and was the team's MVP. But he was also among the highest paid goalkeepers in the league ($1,063,125 US) and Toronto wasn't too keen on paying him a similar salary. The club didn't pick up its 2026 contract option on Johnson and when the two sides couldn't come to terms on a new deal over the winter, the veteran shot stopper signed with D.C. as a free agent.

November 7 – away to Philadelphia Union

Toronto FC closes out its campaign on the final day of the regular season, known as "Decision Day," by taking on the defending Supporters' Shield champions in their back yard. The Reds earned a dramatic, last second draw against the Union at Subaru Park last August in a game in which Djordje Mihailovic made his debut as the team's new DP. TFC hopes to be in the thick of the playoff race on Decision Day this year, and with any luck they will be playing for playoff positioning or looking to clinch a post-season berth.
