Random thoughts on TFC: Retooling roster won't be easy

The cold, hard, sober truth is that Toronto FC doesn't have many valuable trade assets on its roster going into pre-season.

Some random thoughts I had on Toronto FC after the club kicked off its pre-season this week.

Reds face serious challenges in roster rebuild

After finishing dead last in MLS and suffering through its worst ever league campaign in 2023, Toronto FC headed into this off-season needing to undergo major roster overhaul.

Thus far, it hasn't happened. TFC's only additions this winter have been midfielder Deybi Flores and top draft pick Tyrese Spicer. At the moment, 26 TFC players are contractually guaranteed for the 2024 campaign. Keep in mind that the MLS roster limit is 30 players.
