Walker Zimmerman looks to win more trophies with Toronto FC

Walker Zimmerman makes no bones about what his goals are with Toronto FC for the 2026 MLS season and beyond.

Signed by TFC as a free agent earlier this month, Zimmerman held court on Monday for the first time at his introductory press conference at the club’s training ground and let it be known that he’s joined the Reds in search of more trophies.

The veteran centre back has enjoyed success at every stop along the way during his career, which includes Supporters’ Shields with both FC Dallas and LAFC, and U.S. Open Cups with Dallas and Nashville SC. He was also a member of the U.S. national team that won a Concacaf Gold Cup in 2021 and the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League.

Few other defenders in the league can match Zimmerman's impressive resume – he was twice voted the MLS Defender of the Year (2020 and 2021) and has been named to the MLS Best XI on five occasions (2019 to 2023). Despite his past achievements, an insatiable drive for silverware still burns brightly inside the 32-year-old native of Georgia.
