Jonathan Osorio 'pretty excited' about where Toronto FC is at
Osorio feels that TFC showed growth towards the tail end of the last season which gives him optimism for the 2026 MLS campaign.
There was a hop in Jonathan Osorio’s step last week as he walked the hallways of the BMO Training Ground.
Toronto FC’s captain had just returned home after playing for Canada in a 1-0 win over Guatemala in an international friendly in Los Angeles. The veteran midfielder also got married over the off-season, all of which would explain his buoyant demeanour at the start of pre-season training camp before the team travelled to Spain.
But Osorio’s good mood can also be explained by the genuine optimism he felt about the upcoming MLS campaign.
From the outside looking in, it’s difficult to understand why he’s so positive about TFC’s current state of affairs. The Reds are coming off a poor 2025 season in which they recorded just six wins, finishing 12th in the Eastern Conference and failing to make the playoffs for a fifth straight year.
