CanWNT Talk: What did we learn from the Mexico series?

Canadian women's team coach Bev Priestman has some hard decisions to make.

Canada closed out its two-game friendly series against Mexico with a disappointing 1-1 draw on Tuesday night at BMO Field, the team's final game before Priestman is expected to announce her roster for this summer's Paris Olympics on June 30.

"I've just said to the group in the locker-room they've made my life so difficult. And that's a credit to them. They've handled themselves with real class in a time that's difficult," Priestman told reporters after the game.

Like it did during Saturday's 2-0 win in Montreal, the Canadians enjoyed the overwhelming majority of possession, but its attacking attempts didn’t prove entirely fruitful. The reigning Olympic champions struggled to break down their resolute Concacaf rivals and let them hang around for far too long. Ultimately, that cost them what would’ve been a momentum-building win ahead of the Olympics.
