Some random thoughts I had on Toronto FC as it prepares for Saturday's road game against New York City FC.

Luka Gavran deserves kudos for shutout vs. Charlotte

Sean Johnson was outstanding in recording shutouts in each of Toronto’s first two games of the season, and he was recognized for his efforts last week when he was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following a gritty 1-0 road win over the New England Revolution.

A third start appeared to be on the cards for Johnson in last weekend's home opener, but he felt something after the club's final practice final Friday. Johnson was reevaluated on Saturday morning and the club decided not to play him as a precaution against Charlotte FC.
