Toronto FC: 4 stories to watch this week
Josh Sargent could make his MLS debut for Toronto FC this Sunday away to FC Cincinnati.
Toronto FC wraps up its three-game road swing to open the 2026 MLS regular season when it visits FC Cincinnati on Sunday (7:00 p.m. ET/Apple TV).
TFC was handed its second loss in a row in a humbling 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, a result that left coach Robin Fraser more than a little frustrated.
"I’m probably mostly disappointed with the fact that we look so tentative in the beginning of the game. I thought with the ball, we just didn't look as confident as we needed to, and [that] led to a lot of turnovers. And we certainly feel like when we play well and we're engaged that we have the ability to play through teams and make it difficult for them," Fraser told reporters after the loss.
Things don't get any easier for Toronto who'll go from playing last year's MLS Cup finalist to facing one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this weekend.
Note: I will be at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati to cover Sunday's game, so be sure to visit TFC Republic all weekend in order to check out our special on-site coverage.
