Hernandez open to switching models in the summer

Toronto FC has adopted the two DP/four U22 player model – for now.

In the summer of 2024, MLS introduced a new rule whereby clubs had to adhere to one of two roster models. The first allows teams to sign as many as three designated players (DPs) and up to three U22 Initiative players. The second model allows teams to have up to two DPs and as many as four U22 Initiative players, plus they receive an additional $2 million in general allocation money (GAM).
