May 10: Insigne set to return after lengthy injury layoff

After being sidelined with a hamstring injury for more than six weeks, Italian DP Lorenzo Insigne is set to return for Toronto FC in Saturday’s home game against New York City FC (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV).

TFC coach John Herdman confirmed following Friday’s practice that Insigne will be available for selection vs. NYCFC after missing the club’s last eight matches across MLS and the Canadian Championship.
