The roster rules for the 2024 Canadian Championship have John Herdman doing some long-term planning.

Teams competing in the domestic cup competition are only allowed to use 30 players during the full length of the tournament. Whether a player plays or not doesn’t matter – as long as he is part of a team’s gameday squad, he counts against the 30-man roster limit.
