The last time FC Cincinnati visited BMO Field it clinched the 2023 Supporters' Shield and extended Toronto FC's losing streak to four games. From there, the Reds lost their next three in a row as they finished in last place in the MLS table.
A lot has changed since that 3-2 win by Cincinnati on Sept. 30, 2023. While Cincinnati remains one of the top teams in the league, Toronto has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in 2024 under John Herdman.
TFC (7-6-1) are fighting for a top four spot in the Eastern Conference, they've reached the semifinals of the Canadian Championship, and they've won seven of their last nine games in all competitions, including two in a row.
