2025 in review: Italians leave TFC as part of Canada Day bombshell

In part 6 of our special "Toronto FC year in review for 2025" series, TFC Republic looks back at the month of July.   

Results on the pitch during July didn't improve much for Toronto FC as it took just four out of a possible 15 points and was shut out twice during the month while its playoff hopes continued to slip away. 

But the team did make headlines away from the field in a big way with the departures of Italian DPs Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi before their contracts were up.
