AFC Toronto’s Olivia Chisholm is going to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Canadian coach Jen Herst announced her 21-player World Cup roster on Thursday, and making the cut was Chisholm, a 16-year-old midfielder who recently made her pro debut for AFC Toronto in the Northern Super League.
Chisholm is one of six NSL players signed to youth development contracts to be included in Herst’s World Cup side. The others are goalkeeper Olivia Busby with Halifax Tides FC; defender Naomi Lofthouse with Ottawa Rapid FC; defenders Bridget Mutipula and Chloe Taylor with Vancouver Rise FC; and forward Melisa Kekic with AFC Toronto.
