Still in the formative years of his development, TFC 2 defender Stefan Kapor is quietly making a name for himself for both club and country.

Kapor, a 16-year-old from Stoney Creek, Ont., was with Canada’s under-17 team earlier this month for a trio of important friendlies vs. Morocco, Uzbekistan and England, and is expected to be part of the Canadian squad that will compete at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which runs from Nov. 3-27 in Qatar.

The young centre back is simultaneously making waves with TFC 2, having signed his first pro contract prior to the start of the current MLS NEXT Pro campaign after coming up through the youth academy and making three appearances for the Young Reds last season. He's done all of this while balancing his schoolwork.

TFC 2 coach Gianni Cimini raves about Kapor, heralding "his demeanour and ability to compete" for someone so young.
