TFC in desperate need of clean sheets amidst playoff push

Toronto FC came out of the extended MLS break for this summer’s FIFA World Cup by impressively posting back-to-back shutouts in its first two games, 0-0 road draws vs. CF Montreal and the New England Revolution in mid-July.
That was only two months ago but it seems much longer than that given that TFC have been leaking goals at a steady rate ever since.
Saturday’s 2-0 road loss to Supporters’ Shield leaders Nashville SC marked the 11th game in a row that the Reds have gone without a single clean sheet. Even more disturbing is the fact that they’ve conceded 22 times and given up at least three goals on four separate occasions during that same span.
