TFC blanked by CF Montreal in Canadian Classique
  • Toronto FC 0, CF Montreal 1 (MacNaughton OG 69’)
  • TFC winless in 5 MLS games, with 4 losses
  • Osorio ruled out due to concussion protocols

Toronto FC’s search for its first clean sheet and first victory on the road of the 2022 MLS season continues with no end in sight.

TFC came out of the wrong end of a 1-0 road loss to CF Montreal on Saturday night in the latest installment of the Canadian Classique, a score line that completely flattered the visitors. Now winless in five matches with four losses, Toronto (5-12-4) was completely outplayed by a barnstorming Montreal side (10-8-2), who could have inflicted more damage if not for some outstanding saves by Alex Bono, and its wastefulness in front of goal.

The Reds remain without a win away from BMO Field this year (0-7-3) and have failed to record a single clean sheet in 21 MLS matches. They’ve also been shut out seven times in their last 12 outings, including twice this week.
