It’s now four games in a row that Toronto FC has looked like a well-organized, coherent side after spending much of the MLS campaign lurching around in the dark.
Wednesday night’s 3-2 decision over FC Cincinnati in the “Battle of the Basement” saw the Reds come from behind and then withstand a late surge by the visitors to earn back-to-back wins at BMO Field for the first time this season.
In doing so, the Reds also climbed out of the basement in MLS by overtaking Cincinnati, who now sits in last place overall.
“The team spirit in the locker-room, the energy feels different especially now that we’re not in the bottom,” said Ifunanyachi Achara, one of TFC’s goal-scorers on the night.
Here are my three major takeaways from the game.
