The dog days of summer have arrived for Toronto FC.
Riding a modest two-game unbeaten run following a 1-1 draw with Orlando City on the weekend, TFC (2-8-3) will play the first of two matches this week when it hosts the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday.
The Reds currently sit 13th out of 14 teams in the Eastern Conference, six spots and eight points out of a playoff spot. Although there are 21 matches left in the season, Toronto desperately needs to start making up ground if it harbours any thoughts about qualifying for the post-season.
Here’s what you need to know about Wednesday's game (7:30 p.m. ET) between TFC and New York at BMO Field.
