Reader mailbag: Should Luka Gavran be TFC's No. 1 goalkeeper?
Gavran is good enough to start for Toronto FC. He's just unfortunate to be on the same team as MLS veteran Sean Johnson.

I know that the MLS SuperDraft is not a way to build a team, but when I see these small deals for $50-$100K of GAM or even the $500k in GAM for Tyrese Spicer, should TFC be trying to acquire some draft picks along the way to try and build up their youth? Especially when some MLS teams don't even rate the draft and pass on their picks and may be available at a discount. What do you think the value of a first-round pick would be in GAM?

The SuperDraft isn't what it once was in terms of having a major impact on how teams can rebuild their roster, especially with the rise of the youth academy system and homegrown players in MLS over the last several years.
But former No. 1 pick Maurice Edu (selected by Toronto FC in 2007) argues that the draft remains a viable pathway for a lot of players into MLS.
