Can TFC build off an historic road win over Inter Miami?
Don't look now, but the under-performing Reds have some momentum, although they still haven't fully turned the corner.
It was a win that was a very long time in the making for Toronto FC.
Winless in six all-time road games (five losses) against Inter Miami, TFC finally pulled one over on the Herons away from home by earning a surprising 2-1 victory on Saturday in their first ever visit to Nu Stadium.
It was Toronto's third win against Miami overall in 14 regular season contests dating back to their first meeting in 2020.
Considering how the Reds' season has been going so far – a rash of injuries and wins being few and far between – you'd be excused if this looked like a mismatch on paper, especially considering Miami sat second in the Supporters' Shield table ahead of Saturday's game, to say nothing of the fact that Lionel Messi is having another MVP-type calibre campaign.
