Davies, David headline CanMNT roster for World Cup qualifiers

A Canadian men’s team stocked with players who have enjoyed major success with their European clubs this season is ready to go into battle next month.

Coach John Herdman announced his 24-man roster on Saturday for the team’s upcoming matches in Concacaf qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, a list that is headlined by Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David. Canada plays Aruba and Suriname on June 5 and 8, and two more potential qualifying matches await the Reds later in the month.

Even though he’s missing some players through injuries, Herdman believes he’s assembled a squad that can get results in these crucial World Cup qualifiers.
