Finally!
Twenty-four years of hurt and sorrow, close calls and not-so-close calls, dashed hopes and broken dreams, and bitterness and futility for the Canadian men's team came to an end on Tuesday night.
Canada earned a 3-0 victory over Haiti in the second leg of its Concacaf World Cup qualifier to take its two-game series 4-0 on aggregate. In doing so, the Canadians advanced to the final round of Concacaf qualifying, something it hasn't done since competing in “The Hex" prior to the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
