CanMNT Talk: A masterclass effort in win over Honduras

Canada continues to prove it's among the elite nations in Concacaf, but now it must take the next step by winning something.

CanMNT Talk: A masterclass effort in win over Honduras

The Canadian men’s team brushed aside Honduras on Tuesday night in a 4-1 win at BMO Field, forcing the Central Americans to play most of the game on the back foot.

With this victory, Canada qualified for the Concacaf Nations League finals in Las Vegas in June. Canada will play Panama in the final four, while the other semifinal sees the United States clash with Mexico. Canada had already qualified for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup (June 24 to July 16) by virtue of its top-two finish in Group C, so this is going to be a very busy summer for John Herdman's side.

“If you want to be part of Concacaf’s elite, you have to be in these finals. You’ve got to get into these big events. It’s the first in our history to get to a Nations League final and I think this group believes it can win it,” Herdman said in the post-game press conference.
