Hutchinson back in Canadian roster for World Cup qualifiers

Canada will have one of its most decorated players back in its squad for this month’s pair of crucial Concacaf World Cup qualifying matches.

Coach John Herdman revealed his 23-man roster on Friday, a list that includes veteran midfielder Atiba Hutchinson who missed last month’s trio of qualifiers due to injury.

Competing in his fifth World Cup qualifying cycle, Hutchinson has 88 caps to his credit and is on the cusp of becoming Canada’s all-time appearances leader. If Hutchinson plays in both games this month, he will surpass former teammate Julian de Guzman (89 caps) as the Canadian team’s record caps holder.
