  • Toronto FC 0, Vancouver Whitecaps 3 (Müller 25’, 37’; White 45’+2’)
  • TFC winless in 7 MLS games vs. Vancouver, including 5 losses
  • Reds’ previous league win over Whitecaps was in 2020 season

VANCOUVER – Any lingering doubts about Toronto FC being a work in progress even after all its recent signings were erased on Saturday night.

TFC suffered a mauling at the hands of the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place, coming out on the wrong end of a humbling 3-0 loss in the latest edition of this version of the Canadian derby.

Thomas Müller bagged a brace for the Whitecaps who scored three set piece goals in the first half to hand Toronto its second consecutive loss to open the 2026 MLS regular season.

TFC prided themselves on being a tough team to beat during the latter half of last season while finishing with one of the best defensive records in the league. So far, this year’s version of the team bears no resemblance to that one as they’ve coughed up five goals and have looked second best across both of their matches.
