TFC to host CPL champions in the 1st round

The 2026 Canadian Championship is going to start off with a bang for Toronto FC.

TFC were drawn against Atlético Ottawa during Saturday night's official draw for this year's tournament. That means the Reds will host the reigning Canadian Premier League champions in the preliminary round of the competition from May 5-10.

The winner of that game advances to the two-legged quarter-finals where it will face the winner of the first-round match between FC Supra du Québec of the CPL vs. Woodbridge Strikers SC of League1 Ontario.
