Toronto FC (3-6-5) sat 13th in the Eastern Conference, four points below the playoff line with a game in hand, before MLS went on hiatus in late May due to this summer's FIFA World Cup.

There are 20 games left in the MLS season, so the Reds have plenty of time to get things right. At the same time, TFC have a lot of work to do in order to get into playoff contention after failing to take advantage of a league schedule that saw them win just two of nine home games before the break.

Reporter James Grossi, who also operates the Unattached FC website, spoke to TFC Republic about how Richie Laryea and Jonathan Osorio looked for Canada at the World Cup, the importance of the team to hit the ground running after its lengthy hiatus, and much more.
