Canada's post-World Cup campaign starts with 2 home friendlies
Canada will host Chile at Toronto’s BMO Field on Sept. 26 before travelling to Montreal to face Peru at Stade Saputo on Oct. 3.
Fresh off its round of 16 showing at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, the Canadian men’s team will be back in action during the next international window.
Canada Soccer announced on Wednesday that the men’s team will host Chile at Toronto’s BMO Field on Sept. 26 before travelling to Montreal to face Peru at Stade Saputo on Oct. 3.
These will be the men’s team’s first matches since the World Cup where it earned its first ever win at the tournament in the group stage. Canada also earned its first knockout victory – a 1-0 decision over South Africa in Los Angeles – to advance to the round of 16. The Canadians bowed out of the competition following a 3-0 loss.
