Another goal-less stalemate on the road for Toronto FC

The good news for Toronto FC since returning from the World Cup break is that it isn’t conceding goals. The bad news is that it isn’t scoring them.
Fresh of a goal-less stalemate last week, TFC battled the New England Revolution evenly in a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium. It’s the first time the Reds have recorded back-to-back 0-0 draws in MLS since the 2010 campaign.
Toronto (3-6-7) collected its second clean sheet in a row and third of the season after giving up 29 goals through its first 14 matches. So, the Reds are tightening up defensively and becoming tougher for opponents to break down. At the same time, goals remain at a premium for TFC who have scored just 22 times in MLS and have gone 236 minutes without finding the back of the net.
