It was a tale of two completely different halves from the Canadian men’s team in its penultimate match before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A dire and timid opening stanza gave way to a vibrant and dominant final 45 minutes from the Canadians who earned a convincing 2-0 win over Uzbekistan in an international friendly on a very rainy Monday night at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium before 46,164 fans.

Toronto FC captain Jonathan Osorio came off the bench to score his 10th goal for Canada, who made wholesale changes at the start of the second half to turn a tight game on its head. Fellow substitute Jayden Nelson also scored and Tani Oluwaseyi collected a pair of assists after entering the match at halftime.

Les Rouges are now unbeaten in six consecutive games (two wins) with their previous loss coming last October vs. Australia in Montreal.
