Canada entered this year’s Gold Cup as one of the top favourites with many critics predicting they’d win the tournament for the first time since 2000.
But Canada came out on the wrong end of a 6-5 penalty shootout loss to Guatemala in Sunday’s quarter-final at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, exiting the competition via a massive upset loss.
