MONTREAL – It's the final countdown.

Friday's international vs. the Republic of Ireland marks Canada's final match before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving coach Jesse Marsch one last chance to have his side work out the kinks before this summer's festivities.

Canada enters this contest on a six-game unbeaten run (two wins) and with just one regulation time loss in its last 16 outings. That defeat came in the team's previous visit to Montreal – a 1-0 loss to Australia on Oct. 10, 2025.

Here’s what you need to know about Friday's contest between Canada and Ireland at Montreal's Stade Saputo (7:30 p.m. ET/OneSoccer & TSN).

Note: I will be at Stade Saputo to cover Friday's game, so be sure to visit TFC Republic to check out our special on-site coverage.
