TFC captain Jonathan Osorio named to latest Canadian squad
Osorio is the only player over the age of 30 on Canada's roster for the Copa América playoff against Trinidad and Tobago.
Captain Jonathan Osorio will miss Toronto FC's home game against Atlanta United on March 23, but he has a pretty good excuse as he'll be away on international duty.
Interim coach Mauro Biello announced on Tuesday his 23-man roster for the Canadian men's team's crucial Copa América qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago, and included on his list of call-ups is Osorio.
Osorio is the only member of TFC to crack the squad for Canada, who must defeat Trinidad in a one-game playoff on March 23 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas to qualify for the 2024 Copa América which takes place in the United States from June 20 to July 14. Canada is No. 50 in the current FIFA world rankings. Trinidad is 96th.
