TFC 2 season preview for 2025: What you need to know
The Young Reds are looking to rebound this year after an inconsistent 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign.
After failing to make the playoffs for two straight years, TFC 2 will attempt to get back to the post-season when they kick off their 2025 MLS NEXT Pro campaign this weekend.
However, coach Gianni Cimini's main goal is to continue to develop young players and youth academy products. That's one of the reasons why the team's roster has a different look this year following the addition of several new youngsters in the off-season.
"We wanted in our recruitment to reflect some of the identity and the ethos of [Toronto FC] moving forward. So, we put an emphasis on athletic, dynamic, courageous players. And I think we did a good job with that," Cimini said this week.
He added: "The team has definitely become younger in its composition."
