In the latest instalment: With Toronto set to host FC Dallas this weekend, we look back at the bizarre Concacaf Champions League showdown between the clubs at BMO Field in the summer of 2011.


Toronto FC lost 1-0 to FC Dallas in Concacaf Champions League group stage action on the morning of Aug. 25, 2011, in a replay of a game that was wiped out due to adverse weather less than 12 hours earlier. 

Dallas took a 1-0 lead into halftime on the previous night, but the match was halted for over two hours and was eventually abandoned at 11:30 p.m. ET due to severe lightning strikes, a violent thunderstorm and the threat of a tornado in Toronto.
