Playoff scenarios: What's at stake for Toronto FC this weekend
TFC are walking a fine line as they can bolster their playoff hopes with a win but also be eliminated with a loss or draw.
Toronto FC successfully kept alive its MLS playoff hopes earlier with a come-from-behind win at home vs. D.C. United on Wednesday.
But TFC still have plenty of work to do, starting with Sunday’s road game vs. Atlanta United FC (4:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV), if it hopes to clinch their first post-season berth since 2020.
“We’re coming off a rollercoaster of a win at BMO [Field], so I think we need to take the confidence that we had in the second half and bring it into the full match in Atlanta. It’s going to be a tough game. Road games are tough here in MLS, and it’s another important game for us," fullback Richie Laryea said on Friday.
“We can’t really look past anything apart from building on what we did in the second half and making sure we’re good for the full game and being able to leave there happy.”
