TORONTO – Don’t write off Toronto FC just yet.

TFC staved off elimination from the playoff race thanks to a come-from-behind 2-1 win over D.C. United on Wednesday in their final home game of the MLS regular season at BMO Field.

Down a goal after a lacklustre opening 45 minutes, the Reds received second-half goals from DP forward Josh Sargent and captain Jonathan Osorio to remain in the thick of the post-season mix.

Sargent’s goal late in regulation time secured the win for Toronto (9-11-12) who remained in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, just two spots and two points below the playoff line with only two matches remaining in the season. The loss eliminated D.C. from playoff contention.
