TORONTO – With the 2026 MLS regular season in the home stretch, it looked increasingly likely that the year would pass without a goal from Jonathan Osorio.

But the veteran midfielder managed to score the equalizer and help Toronto FC register a come-from-behind 2-1 win over D.C. United on Wednesday night in the club’s final home game of the regular season.

Osorio didn’t know much about the goal as Josh Sargent’s header off a corner kick deflected off the TFC captain's back and found its way past D.C. goalkeeper Sean Johnson to level the score at 1-1 in the 64th minute. The goal withstood a lengthy VAR review for offside which set the stage for Sargent to net the winner with six minutes left in regulation time.
