Deandre Kerr recently reached a special milestone with Toronto FC, one that he quietly achieved with very little fanfare.

When Kerr took to the pitch as a starter against the Philadelphia Union at BMO Field on April 22 in a 3-3 draw, it marked his 100th career MLS regular season appearance for TFC. In doing so, he became only the 12th player in team history to hit the century mark – other members of the Reds’ “100 club” include Michael Bradley, Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore and Jonathan Osorio.

Kerr, a 23-year-old from Ajax, Ont., had an opportunity to celebrate his 100th MLS appearance in style when he had a clear sight on goal with the last kick of the first half, only to send his angled shot just wide of the far post. Even though he didn’t bury that scoring chance, it was still a special night for Kerr, one that he looks back upon with great fondness.

“It's an honour and dream to be able to play in my hometown, and to play that many games at this level and with my family in the stands for every single one of those games, it's a dream that I'm grateful for,” Kerr said.
