Canada vs. Venezuela: What you need to know

FORT LAUDERDALE – It might seem like the 2026 FIFA World Cup is far away, but it's actually a lot closer than you think.

There are only two more international windows after this month before the start of the World Cup in June, so the Canadian men's team doesn't have a lot of opportunities to prepare and play exhibition games. That's why last Thursday's friendly against Ecuador, a 0-0 draw in Toronto, and this week's match vs. Venezuela are so vitally important for Canada.

Here’s what you need to know about Tuesday's contest between Canada and Venezuela at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale (8:30 p.m. ET/TSN & OneSoccer).

NOTE: I am in Florida to cover this game. Be sure to check back with TFC Republic for my post-game game report.
