Richard Chukwu's Canada call up is a big deal
Canadian national team coach Jesse Marsch announced his 23-man roster this week ahead of the upcoming Concacaf Nations League qualifiers, and among the players who made the cut was Toronto FC defender Richard Chukwu.
Chukwu, 18, made his national team debut in September when he was subbed on in the 88th minute of Canada’s 1-0 win over Chile at BMO Field. A week later, he started and played 65 minutes in a 2-0 victory vs. Peru in Montreal. At the time, he had more appearances for Canada than with TFC, but that didn't stop Marsch recalling him for November's international window.
