Forge secured its fourth CPL title with a dramatic extra time win over Cavalry in Hamilton on Saturday.

HAMILTON – Make it four for Forge FC. 

Forge remains the undisputed kingpin of the Canadian Premier League after earning a dramatic, come-from-behind 2-1 victory in extra time over Cavalry FC in Saturday night’s championship game before an announced crowd of 13,925 at Tim Hortons Field. 

Substitute Tristan Borges scored the winner via a spectacular Olimpico for Forge, who became the first team to hoist the North Star Cup, the new trophy that replaces the North Star Shield, which was previously awarded to the CPL’s champions from 2019 to 2022.   

Béni Badibanga also tallied for Forge with a highlight-reel effort from distance, while Ali Musse opened the scoring in the game for Cavalry. All three goals came in extra time.
