Canada vs. Colombia: What you need to know

Canada faces one of its stiffest challenges of the Jesse Marsch era when it faces Colombia on Tuesday night in New Jersey.

Canada vs. Colombia: What you need to know

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY – After a successful September that featured a pair of road wins over European opponents, the Canadian men's team got off to a sobering start to this month's international window with a loss at home.

Canada, ranked No. 26 in the world, dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 25 Australia last Friday at Stade Saputo, the team's first game in Montreal in over eight years. Jesse Marsch's men don't have much time to lament over their somewhat laboured showing against the Socceroos. Bigger challenges are ahead for Les Rouges, namely No. 13 Colombia.

“[They’re a] great team with recent results that are very strong and they're rolling in the right way. So, it's going to be a big challenge, but a challenge that we're excited about,” Toronto FC captain Jonathan Osorio said on Monday.

Here’s what you need to know about Tuesday's contest between Canada and Colombia at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey (8:00 p.m. ET/TSN & OneSoccer).

NOTE: I am in New Jersey to cover this game. Be sure to check back with TFC Republic for my post-game game report.
